Would you guys please hush?! I'm trying to drink in the silence here.
I never realized how precious silence is till I started working in a looney-bin.
I actually had COTTON in my ears the other day. All I want is FIVE MINUTES of silence during my shift. Even two minutes will do.
Even the john provides no solace. Trust me, I'm in there a lot.

Re: Silence
Hah, Chunky. Are you all "talk" and no action? An oldie, but grossie: Here I sit, brokenhearted. Paid a nickel and I only farted.
I encountered no silence on my walk this morning. Wow, these loud cicada creatures are all over the place -- their squashed bodies on the road, the sidewalks. (BTW, lately whenever I try the "Embed YouTube" I get a black screen...can't be done.)

Re: Silence
Loud, lusty 17-year-olds:
Now they are all grown up, and doing grown-up things.
“They are mating on the deck; they are mating on the banister; they are mating on the plants,” Ms. Garber Schoen, 68, said. “They don’t care, they are just mating all over the place. They have no shame whatsoever.”
Though she calls them “the bane of my existence,” Ms. Garber Schoen stops short of disturbing them. “They’ve waited 17 years,” she said. “They’re entitled.” Plus, she added, in two weeks or so, they will be gone until 2030.
Funny article from NYTimes
And according to the video, after looking forward for 17 years, not all the little dudes get the goodies. They just...die off.
