These are links to two articles. One, in the NY Times, discusses people,writers, and groups posting bad reviews for books. The other one is a Gizmodo artice on a new megaupload site where authorities will be unable to access your files. Just thought some of you might be interested.

Interesting NYT article (though I got to the term "sock puppets" and cringed, lol).
I'm astonished at the nastiness of some of the book reviews out there, by readers and bloggers. It almost seems to be a contest lately.

Missed this thread before now.
I'm glad neither I or my book are (in)famous enough to attract that kind of unwanted attention.
I used to have a "meh" attitude to Amazon reviews but I now believe that upwards of 70% of my books' sales are via Amazon. And over the years, its garnered quite a few pretty good reviews. There's little doubt in my mind now that those reviews generate sales.
As to that new storage service - sounds intriguing but I can understand why copyright holders would see it as yet another assault.
