Favourite Olympic Memories Even though the games aren't over yet, I thought I'd start this thread with a memory from games past. This ties in with the current games and my nationality, as it took place about an hour from where I live, during the 1988 winter games in Calgary, and it involved a British ski jumper -- the first person ever to represent Britain in that event -- that the world lovingly nicknamed Eddie the Eagle.
To me, his appearance at those games was one of the most inspiring performances of all time in any sport.
We loved him so much that we invited him to be a bearer in the torch run two years ago when the winter olympics came back to Canada in Vancouver.
Re: Favourite Olympic Memories Okay, not really an Olympic moment but it's what I think of every time I see synchronized swimming. And it is a favourite.
