Re: To Kindle, or Not to Kindle (or Nook for you Crazy Canukians)

I tried to read my Nook in the car and I thought I was going blind. Turns out I can't read it with my sunglasses on. So weird.

Thanks Silkie emoticon I still think you're right though...why not get both? Getting so gadgety these days...

You've made a good point about the iPad and the Kindle though...Kindle is a dedicated eBook reader while the iPad isn't really so.

Yep, thats the main thing for me.

Its like a car, you can get 4 wheel drive cars and 2 wheel drive cars. Both do the same job, but one does a certain type of job better (4 wheels are better than 2 in traction, but 2 wheels are better for economy).

Basically, as with most things in life, if you can afford it get both. emoticon

I have the basic Kindle and I LOVE it. I was always old school and thought I'd never want to replace the feel of a book. But then my closet filled up with books and I had to lug them around. Now I have about 40 books on my kindle and it still fits in my purse. Amazon has so many great deals too, I have about 10 that were a dollar or free.

I love the fact you can read in any light, even sunlight with no glare.

Mrs. Cur recently purchased the Google device. I forget the name.

She bought it 'cuz it reads Amazon and B&N formats, as well giving basic Internet ability.

I don't use the goldern thing.

Livin' in a dank cave as we do, I need real books. Pile 'em around and on me to keep warm of a evenin' after the far dwindles.

See, books is good for lots of stuff. I once beat a man pert near to death with a huge one-volume Webster's. That was when he averred one of our four cats couldn't read.

Sumbitch got religion, Cur religion, right after his bruises healed.

Segues are hard to to, but I bleeve I've stumbled dreckly into religion.

Tom Cruise has the IQ of a banana. Followin' that train of thought, I saw an overripe banana on the TV. You know, face sagging. Fella name of Mitch McConnell. This ole boy tweeted his fellow travelers that Obama is going to take away their guns.

Jesus Christo, on a crumbling crutch.

I got to git.
