Re: Question?

Tin,

Use lower case if the person speaking is talking to someone he doesn't know well.

Capitalize it if it becomes a nickname.

I laughed out loud when I read this thread. Took me back many years.

I grew up at a time and place when boy was a common word. Things, like---

"Boy, it's cold."

"Boy, I wish I had a dime for a Coke."

Like that. Very common.

Well, here's what happened. I was prolly an early teen. We were visiting my uncle. He was a very nice man. He had curly hair. Of course, everyone in the extended family called him "Curly."

Curly was puttering in his garage. I got bored with whatever was going on in the house and went out to the garage.

Curly was doing something mysterious in the hood of his car. I didn't give a rip about cars.

I no longer recall exactly what I said when I came into Curly's garage. I suppose it might have been something like, "Boy, I sure wish I could find something to do."

Curly straightened up from his car's engine.

Looked at me. There was a twinkle in his eye, although I didn't realize that until much later. "I've got fourteen inches of cock, my balls won't fit in a fruit jar, and you call me "boy?"

I was shattered. Have never used the word since.

Hope someone will get a smile.

Snort. I can see that you inherited your sense of humour from your uncle. Not to mention the first syllable of your nickname.

I was tempted to post "Only 14"?!"

But Q would only snort again.

So I won't.

Thanks Cur. I still talk like that. Hope I'm not telling my age, though I don't remember ever paying only a dime for a Coke, lol.

Re: Question?

Ol' Cur sounds like a bit of a pup himself. emoticon

"In the end, inflation killed the nickel Coke. The price of the ingredients rose. In the late 1940s, some stores sold Cokes for 6 cents. The last nickel Coke seems to have been in 1959."

Is Cur a pup or is he not?
